this skirt is HURT. i thought i broke my toe , but it turns out it is just severely bruised. like, it hurts to put ice on it. it's my middle toe on the right foot. number 8 toe, as B numbered it. it doesn't always hurt to walk, but it does hurt whenever i have to stuff it in a shoe and on stairs in particular.
and HOLY SHIT did i hurt when i accidentally kicked a trash can at work today. i honestly had tears in my eyes and thought i was going to have some kind of reputation as an office-crier. i cry a lot, like when i tripped and hurt my toe in the first place, but i will NOT cry at work. every woman's got to set some boundaries.
as if i didn't have enough to whine about, I also have some poison ivy. it started as a small sample on my elbow and has spread onto my tummy. it is really quite contained and nowhere near the worst example of a reaction. but it is itchy and i like to whine.
and it's tuesday and none of this crap seems to be getting any better. so i took a benedryl with a glass of wine and might just fall asleep at the helm.
other than injury, my weekend was filled with SKIRTS! k and i (and the dog) went for an 8mi run with our sister j in newport on saturday. it was warm - verging on hot - and there were some rolling hills and right as i was about to complain about the lack of hydration we passed another skirt! i was so so so excited, but didn't manage to grab a picture with my phone. also, that's creepy. i did say hello to both the skirt and her man.
Question: when you're running, do you say hi to other runners? waive hello? nod your head? or just run by?
personally, i like to greet every other runner. i hope other runners like it as much as i do. i sincerely enjoy being a part of this strange community. even when i am wearing spandex shorts and not a skirt like i should have been.
wine's kicking in . or the benedryl. or both. until next time, fellow skirts.
i refused to cry at work today . . .
. . . and i did it in a skirt!
